Sustainable and social commitment
Q'inti is commited to responsible and ethical practices. We set our sustainable and social responsible goals every year through the certification program with TOURCERT. Besides choosing our providers carefully, adhering to all the Peruvian laws and taxes and being fair and responsible with our employees, porters and providers at all times, we also dedicate part of our profit to support three specific projects:
Empowerment of women through arpilleras
Q'inti organizes arpillera training workshops in remote communities. We also include a small arpillera in our packages to make sure our guests have a special souvenir and the ladies have a guaranteed income.
Every year Q'inti supports the regional count of flamingos in the Andes. This project started in 1998 as an effort from Argentina, Bolivia, Chile and Peru to monitor the global andean flamingo population. Simultaneous censuses are carried out every 5 years in the entire region.
In coordination with CORBIDI we manage a small grant program to support Peruvian students in the field of natural resources.
With CORBIDI we create and support hummingbird gardens throughout Peru. We support their conservation but also spread the beauty of nature to many places. We believe it is important to have contact with nature so we understand how important it is to protect it.
